Najcz\u0119\u015bciej pojawiaj\u0105 si\u0119: silny b\u00f3l gard\u0142a i b\u00f3l podczas po\u0142ykania, b\u00f3l g\u0142owy, czasem b\u00f3l brzucha, nudno\u015bci i wymioty (raczej u dzieci), a tak\u017ce zwykle wysoka temperatura, zwykle powy\u017cej 38\u00b0C. Charakterystycznym objawem s\u0105 krwiste wybroczyny w postaci czerwonych plamek na b\u0142onie \u015bluzowej podniebienia oraz powi\u0119kszone, tkliwe szyjne w\u0119z\u0142y ch\u0142onne, najcz\u0119\u015bciej z ropnym, bia\u0142ym nalotem.
